Ramos, Pudge to split catching duties

|
WASHINGTON -- Ivan Rodriguez and Wilson Ramos will split the catching duties for the rest of the season.

The Nationals want to get a long look at Ramos before the season comes to an end. Ramos is considered the club's starting catcher of the future after he was acquired from the Twins for closer Matt Capps.

Entering Saturday's action against the Marlins, Ramos was 3-for-13 (.231) with a home run and two RBIs.

"The ball jumps off his bat, he has a good arm, soft hands behind the plate," manager Jim Riggleman said.
