Hernandez takes turn against Red Sox

The heart of the Nationals lineup will be re-acquainted with Red Sox pitcher Tim Wakefield Tuesday in the second game of a three-game series.

Alfonso Soriano and Jose Guillen had experience against Wakefield when they toiled in the American League -- with largely the same results.

Guillen has had the most success average-wise against the right-hander with a mark of .333 in nine at-bats.

Soriano has had the most at-bats against Wakefield of any National (33), coming up with 10 hits and four home runs against the knuckleballer.

Livan Hernandez takes the ball for the Nationals on Tuesday, coming off his highest pitch count of the season against Colorado. Hernandez has faced Boston once in his career -- giving up five runs in 6 1/3 innings.
