Nats announce caravan schedule

WASHINGTON -- The Nationals announced the schedule for their 2007 Winter Caravan on Thursday afternoon. They will make several stops in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, including visits to Richmond, Va., and Virginia Beach, Va.

Manager Manny Acta, outfielder Nook Logan, left-hander Mike O'Connor and third baseman Ryan Zimmerman will be on hand to participate in the team's caravan.

Nationals broadcasters Charlie Slowes, Hall of Famer Don Sutton and Dave Jageler will serve as moderators for the various events to be held throughout the region.

The caravan is an opportunity for the Nationals to connect with their fans before they head to Viera, Fla., for Spring Training.

"With the organization's pledge and commitment to community outreach, we're excited about our 2007 Caravan and the numerous visits we'll be making in D.C., Maryland and Virginia," team president Stan Kasten said in a statement.
