"It's just procedure," Fick said. "It's just something you have to do. I hope to be back with the Nationals. They are my guys. I like them. I enjoy it there a lot. I'm sure we'll find out the next month or so."
The chances of Fick coming back to the Nationals are 50-50 at best. He might come back on a Minor League contract like he did last year.
In 2007, Fick played in 118 games and hit .234 with two home runs and 16 RBIs for Washington. His best month came in September, when he hit .319 with nine RBIs. He had a lot of playing time that month because of a neck injury to first baseman Dmitri Young.
