WASHINGTON -- The Nationals made a pair of minor moves on Wednesday, losing right-handed reliever Cole Kimball -- who had been placed on waivers -- to the Blue Jays and outrighting outfielder Corey Brown to Triple-A Syracuse.
Kimball, once considered Washington's closer of the future, appeared in 12 games in 2011, posting a 1.93 ERA before missing time due to a sore right shoulder. He is not expected to return to action until after next season's All-Star break.
Brown was a September callup and had only three at-bats this past season. He missed most of the month because of a staph infection in his right knee.
