Lo Duca feels fine after playing catch

SAN DIEGO -- Washington catcher Paul Lo Duca, who hasn't played in a Major League game since May 7 because of a fractured right hand, played catch before the Nationals faced the Padres on Tuesday.

Lo Duca said he didn't have any problems throwing the baseball.

He is hoping to be back in action right after the All-Star break, if not sooner.

In the next couple days, Lo Duca is anticipating being able to take some dry swings. He then will go through some soft-toss drills by the time the Nationals return to Washington next week.

"Throwing-wise, it's fine. I was trying to get a workout in," Lo Duca said. "The hand is getting better and stronger."
