Garcia still feeling pain in forearm

VIERA, Fla. -- Right-hander Christian Garcia said he still feels pain in his right forearm and will give it a rest for another week. He has not participated in baseball activities since mid-February.

While he is being shut down, Garcia is doing ultrasound and heating the forearm.

"There is nothing you can do. It's more rest than anything," Garcia said. "We are taking it day by day. I want to feel zero pain and then go from there."

When Garcia is ready to pitch, manager Davey Johnson indicated he would still like to see Garcia as a starter.
