LOS ANGELES -- Nationals right-hander Stephen Strasburg is scheduled to start against the Padres in San Diego on Friday. It will mark the first time Strasburg will pitch in his hometown as a Major Leaguer.
According to manager Davey Johnson, Strasburg will be driving to San Diego to be with his family. Johnson doesn't expect any distractions on Strasburg's end.
"It's always good to be in your hometown. Everybody likes to do that," Johnson said. "He is doing well, we just haven't scored him many runs. If we score him some runs, then he will be fine."
Strasburg hasn't won a game since Opening Day against the Marlins, but he has a respectable 3.10 ERA.
