Nats to recall Cedeno for twin bill, option Hill

CHICAGO -- Following Friday's 7-2 loss to the Cubs, Nationals manager Matt Williams said the club will recall left-hander Xavier Cedeno for Saturday's doubleheader.

Cedeno has a 1.56 ERA and 0.92 WHIP in 15 appearances covering 17 1/3 innings for Triple-A Syracuse this season. He's made two scoreless appearances for the Nationals this year, one on April 21 vs. the Angels and the other June 14 at St. Louis, covering 2 1/3 innings.

To make room for Cedeno, the Nats will option righty Taylor Hill back to Syracuse. Hill, who was called up earlier this week, allowed two earned runs 4 1/3 innings over his two appearances. Williams said Hill will go back to the starting rotation at Syracuse, where he's posted a 1.92 ERA in 15 appearances, 14 of them starts.
