Virginia teacher Wright headed to All-Star Game

WASHINGTON -- Major League Baseball announced that Chad Wright of Nokesville, Va., will represent the Nationals as one of 30 winners in the "Target Presents People All-Star Teachers" campaign, which acknowledges current and retired teachers who have made a significant impact on their students and communities.

All 30 winners, each representing one Major League team, will be recognized during a pregame ceremony before the All-Star Game on Tuesday at Target Field in Minneapolis. The ceremony will include Tony Award winner Idina Menzel performing that song "Forever Young" by Minnesota-native Bob Dylan.

Wright was selected from a pool of 90 finalists thanks to votes from fans. The campaign is an effort from Target, MLB and People to celebrate teachers and raise awareness for the importance of education.
