Outfielder Steven Souza, the Nationals' No. 14 prospect, collected four hits and scored two runs Thursday, as Triple-A Syracuse defeated Charlotte, 11-6.
Souza finished the game 4-for-5 with three doubles, two runs, two RBIs and a stolen base. It was his fourth multi-hit game of the week and his 28th of the season.
Souza's big day at the plate supported right-hander Blake Treinen, the Nationals' No. 17 prospect. He allowed three runs on eight hits and two walks, but did enough to pick up his fifth victory of the season for the Chiefs.
In 71 games with Syracuse this season, Souza is hitting .374/.451/.615 with 13 home runs. He leads the International League in batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage.
Souza's domination of the International League this season has only been interrupted by a pair of short stints with the Nationals in April. He appeared in eight games and collected his first hit in the Major Leagues.
