Jayson Werth began the month of July with a National League Player of the Week honor, and he finished it with the NL's Player of the Month Award.
Werth led the NL with 24 RBIs and six game-winning RBIs over 24 games in July, and his 11 doubles and 17 extra-base hits were tied for first in the league. The Nationals outfielder also hit .337 with six homers, a .446 on-base percentage, .687 slugging percentage and 57 total bases.
Werth was named the NL Player of the Week for July 1-6 when he recorded nine hits (including two homers) and nine RBIs in that span. Over a three-game series against his former team in Philadelphia from July 11-13, Werth went 3-for-10 with two homers, five runs scored and seven RBIs.
The veteran leads the Nats and ranks third in the league with 13 game-winning RBIs this season.
The award is Werth's second career monthly honor (July 2013).
