Mets-Nationals game washed out

VIERA, Fla. -- Monday's Spring Training game between the Nationals and Mets was canceled because of rain.

Livan Hernandez was to start for the Nationals. Jon Niese was scheduled to start for the Mets.

The Nationals will travel Tuesday to Jupiter, Fla., to play the Marlins, while the Mets are scheduled to play the Cardinals in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Washington is also planning an intrasquad game with the team's Minor Leaguers, and Hernandez most likely will pitch in that game.

The Nationals and Mets will meet again Thursday in Port St. Lucie, Fla. They have played each other five times, with New York winning three of the games.

Nationals Spring Training season-ticket holders can exchange Monday's tickets for account credit toward the 2011 Grapefruit League season at Space Coast Stadium. The '11 Grapefruit League schedule has not yet been announced.

Those requesting account credit for Monday's game should submit a written request. All such requests should reference the refund option and include Monday's game tickets, the ticket holders' mailing address and the season-ticket account number and should be sent no later than Sept. 1, 2010, to: Nationals Park, ATTN: Spring Training season-ticket holder, 1500 South Capitol St., S.E., Washington, D.C. 20003.

Any season-ticket holder sending in their tickets will receive a credit for the value of parking purchased for Monday's Grapefruit League game at Space Coast Stadium.
