Injury updates

Daniel Murphy will begin the season on the disabled list as he remains in Florida to rehab his right knee after offseason microfracture surgery. The Nationals have not set a timetable for his return, but they were hopeful to get Murphy into games, most likely on the Minor League side, at some point in the coming week.

Nats, Benoit finalize agreement

Right-hander Joaquin Benoit has been in camp for a day and participated in a few workouts, but the veteran reliever officially signed his one-year deal with Washington on Wednesday, a decision he said was an easy one to make.

Koda James Glover...Spent two seasons at Eastern Oklahoma State Junior College prior to transferring to Oklahoma State University...Posted a 1.90 ERA (5 ER/23.2 IP) in 23 appearances out of their bullpen in 2015.

2017

Made his first Opening Day roster...Opened the season in a set-up role before moving to the closer role in late April...Recorded five holds as a set-up man...Was placed on the 10-day DL with a left hip impingement on April 26 and again on June 11 (lower back stiffness), ending his season...Despite pitching in only 23 games, he led all Major League rookies with eight saves...Was 8-for-10 in save opportunities...Earned his first MLB save, April 22 at NYM (0.1 IP)...Did not allow an earned run in nine of 10 save opportunities...Surrendered two earned runs in his final outing, June 10 vs. TEX...
