Henley enters his 25th season with the Nationals/Expos organization, 17th as a coach and sixth on the Major League staff...Henley joined the MLB staff as third base coach for the 2014 season...In 2018, he added additional responsibilities as Washington's outfield instructor...Henley served the Nationals organization as Minor League field coordinator from 2010 to 2013...He spent 2006 through 2009 as catching coordinator, as well as manager of the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Nationals, and guided the GCL Nationals to a league championship in 2009, posting a 36-19 mark before going a perfect 3-0 in the playoffs...Henley held previous managerial posts in the Nationals' system as well, including stints with Single-A Potomac (2005), Single-A Savannah (2004) and the GCL Expos (2003).

Selected by the Montreal Expos in the 26th round of the 1991 First-Year Player Draft, Henley appeared in 41 games for the Expos in 1998, hitting .304 with three home runs and 18 RBI...He made his MLB debut on July 19, 1998 in Montreal against the Pittsburgh Pirates and made the first start of his MLB career the next night, July 20 vs. PHI, and singled to center field off Curt Schilling in his first career at-bat...Taxed Pedro Astacio for his first career big league home run on Aug. 12 at Coors Field...Once considered a significant Major League catching talent, Henley was unfortunately hit particularly hard by injuries (shoulder, elbow), which led to the end of his playing career.
